Get involved this election year! Join us for several exciting Election 2008 events coming up in the next few weeks in Warren (10/15), Detroit (10/18), Flint (10/20) and Bay City (10/30).
- On Wednesday, Oct. 15, the Warren Education Association is hosting a Presidential Debate Party from 8-11 p.m. All MEA members are invited to attend this event at the Millwrights and Carpenters Local 1102, 23401 Mound, Warren, MI 48091 (south of I-696 between 9 and 10 Mile Rd., west side of Mound).
- Union members from across Michigan will be taking to the streets of Detroit for a Blue Michigan Solidarity March on Saturday, Oct. 18. MEA members are invited to join in the march—staging is at 8 a.m. at IBEW Local 58, 1358 Abbott Street, Detroit, with the march stepping off at 9 a.m.
- MEA members are invited to an Oct. 20 rally featuring NEA Vice President Lily Eskelsen and several political candidates. The Get Out The Vote event is at 5 p.m. at the Genesee County MEA office, 5095 Exchange Drive, Flint. Candidates will have exhibit tables with campaign materials.
- Another rally is planned for Oct. 30 in Bay City, featuring NEA President Dennis Van Roekel. Stay tuned for more information about this event.
