As a current member of the Detroit Board of Education and as its past president, I feel children need free access to education. All children should be educated in a manner to compete in a global job market.
Because MEA members volunteered extensively, contributed generously and, most of all, turned out to vote in record numbers, 93 of 103 MEA-recommended candidates were elected on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
