Strengthening our educational programs would ensure that our young people have the tools needed for success in the future—indeed, our long-term economic future is dependent upon training the next generation for the jobs of tomorrow. A mutualistic relationship exists between education and the economy; adequate support of education will provide trained workers for the ‘new economy’ businesses that we must attract to the state, and economic growth fueled by these businesses will encourage more of our best and brightest to stay in Michigan after graduation.
